hihi, reminds me of avatar aang looks cute...I'm not sure if I like your old or new nudiflot more... I mean.. the old design wasn't bad or something, the new design is a little more colorful. Maybe the old nudiflot could be the evolution of the new nudiflot?
Haha yeah Aang inspired the arrow.
Thanks for the kind words about Nudiflot. The old one is the first sprite I ever made, which means I'm fond of it - but it was also in need of an upgrade!
I thought good legendaries could be based on the Four Dignities, since they are linked to the Wu Xing. This is my take on the Snow Lion, which is connected to the Tibetan Terrier, which does not fly but whose feet never touch the ground:
And an alternative without the turquoise flourishes:

I like the lighter one more (the one with the turquoise flourishes)IMO the light colors give it a more divine look
The darker one looks evil: since the sprite doesnt have a big variety of colors, the watchers view focusses on the eyes (small/concentrated, contracty color (red+white)).... for some reason its eyes look like its frowning
also you easily see more details with the lighter colors, the extra blueish color makes it easier to see the "borders"/outline of the sprite.
thats.. why i like the lighter one more
oh and.. nice sprites by the way! the design looks mystic since you see no mouth and no emotion is directly visible. but im kinda confused about the legs the tuxemon HAS legs, right? they are just floating? Im having a hard time to see them on the actual sprite. (but please do not edit the sprite just because i said that, a quick explanation might be enough. sometimes im a little too stupid to see things )
Hey tamashihoshi, thanks for the detailed feedback!
I think the tuxemon has legs, although it never uses them. They're just covered by its long hair, like this shih tzu:

This is how I imagine it, and I might come back to it some day and try to make it look more similar to this:
Inspired by my Lambert commission, I decided to try drawing Nudiflot in the Sugimori style. Here's what I came up with:
Whoa!! That's good! Keep up the good work!
Multiple Media ProducerJesus is God! http://www.upci.org/search
This is my take on Leo's fire starter.
Again, "Whoa!! That's good! big_smile Keep up the good work!" So you are doing this art by yourself?
Hi josepharaoh99, yeah, Nudiflot and the fire iguana are my own (although the fire iguana is from Leo's design), while Lambert was commissioned.
I do a few sketches of the tuxemon to try to get the proportions right and it looking Pokemon-esque. I'll often look up references at this point of how eyes have been done in the Sugimori style, etc.
Then I photograph it and open it in Krita, a free and open source program. I then use the bezier curve tool and one of the default Krita brushes to draw the lines. Then I essentially follow the instructions in this tutorial:

Nudiflot's first evolution, Nudijet:
Awesome work! I love the watercolor-like texture that's been applied to these concept pieces.
Nudiflot's second evolution, Nudikill:
There's a fantastic new fakemon tutorial by DevilDman:

I tried to apply it to make this, an evolution of Nostray:
For reference, Nostray looks like this:
A few fusions, just for fun:
Dude, I love it! It looks like a lot of fun! I don't really understand how the code for fusions would work (unless we created custom fusion settings for each Tuxemon), but this looks totally awesome, and the idea is killer!
It's been a year since I first contributed to this project!
Here's a couple of fusions (just for fun):
ohh thats cool congratulations lori!
One thing we haven't explored yet is variants - like the alternative forms of Pokemon.
Here's an aquatic Ignibus:
You mean like in Sun and Moon?
Yeah, there's a few ways it could go:
1) A purely cosmetic difference, that's fixed. For example, there are lots of different Unown forms, but each Unown has only one form.2) A purely cosmetic difference, that can change. For example, Deerling and Sawsbuck change form with the season.3) A mechanical difference that's fixed. For example, Pumpkaboo have different stats depending on their size, but they never change size.4) A mechanical difference that can change. For example, Meloetta changes form - and type - when it uses a particular move.
In this case, I'm imagining Ignibus would be number 3: you'd either have Fire Ignibus or Water Ignibus.
Moloch, Jemuar and Bigfin also have other form options, of number 4:
Memnomnom has room for almost endless variants, just with different masks and tails.

This gives me the idea of maybe having a few select Tuxemon use alternate sprites under different conditions. Maybe a Halloween mask Memnomnom on Halloween? Santa mask on Christmas? Might be a cool easter egg.
