Modified Tileset

I saw luke83's tileset on OpenGameArt and decided to extend it.
- Changed the colors for sand, previous colors were too contrasting / looked bad when tiled.
- Added Snowy and Sandy Cliffs
- Added two rocks
- Reorganized fences

These are awesome! I especially love the snow and sand tilesets. I'll add these to the latest development branch with proper attribution as soon as I can. I'd love to see what maps can be made with these new environments. I look forward to any other potential work you do!

Is there some kind of way I can see what sprites you already have other than playing the game?
(Btw, The game instantly crashes on my computer without an error [ Windows 7 Home Premium x64 ] )
I realized too late that you guys already have some trees going. Maybe if you could just post a list of currently needed sprites?

Also: is there a standardized Tuxemon Color palette? I saw some talk about color palettes in another thread but no real conclusion.

Very nice!

Having an extra kind of tree is still nice to have. It'll add some diversity to the forest areas we can create. You can view all the current assets on GitHub under the "resources" folder here:

If you launch the game from the command line and it crashes, there might be an error that gets dumped to the command line window. I have seen some random crashes from Pygame that still need to be investigated. If you experience another crash, open up an issue on https://github.com/Tuxemon/Tuxemon and post any information you can and we'll try and investigate further.

You're right that there hasn't been anything truly concrete, but I would stick with the colors available from the SNES/GBA era. This limits the palette to 256 colors. You can look at and download the SNES/GBA palette here:

Some of the graphics in the ./gfx folder are placeholders, yeah? Is there a way to identify which ones?

All of the placeholder graphics have been replaced for the most part, but anything can be improved upon at this stage. If there's anything you want to change or improve, post about your ideas and we can go from there.

I added some stone/mountain features to a tileset-but, I don't even know if they're needed. Dirt cliffs seem good enough. So here it is:

Wait a minute... I just noticed that a new tileset already has the capture device. I'll remove it soon.

I think this is a good recolor of this tileset. Having different colors of these tilesets can help add some diversity to the maps, especially while we're still early in development. I'll also include this in the next development commit. smile

Building I designed to be used in a tileset:

Continuing the theme of assets found on Open Game Art, Gem's got a tileset (16x16) and monster art (unfortunately 128x128, so not immediately usable) on OGA:

Here is a cool looking tileset including buildings, indoor tiles, cave tiles, a character, and other things. It even has a walking log NPC that can work as a Tuxemon maybe! It even has a font too!

This one is really neat - definitely worth someone adding each sheet to the wiki so we can reference it later. There's an excellent range of tiles.

Awesome!! Also found this: http://opengameart.org/content/isaiah658s-pixel-pack-1 Not quite as high quality, but might work. It has various characters and items and tiles and such.
