So far, I have made a small water attack and a sumobug tuxemon. Not sure if the quality is okay, but if it isn't maybe they might inspire someone, i dunno, dont ask me

Oh and... I also have no idea how to call "sumobug". If anyone has a good name, just post it.

Lead Developer · 374 commentsThese are awesome! Great work on this! Usually when someone contributes some artwork, they upload it to an image hosting site like imgur.com. Then you can get the image url and put it inside some image tags so they'll show up in the forums like this:

For convenience, I uploaded these sprites to imgur so they're a little easier to see together:

Thank you very much! I also hope I can contribute lots of mure stuff. Maybe up to the point until someone really professional shows up, but until then, I'll try to submit stuff for sure.

Erm. Wow. Didn't expect that o.O
First of all: Thanks for the kind words, and telling me how to post images correctly. I'll use imgur to post the next sprites (as soon as I have any).
Is there something like a list, which sprites are in need? I mean... we've got the 'pound' attack, but it has a different animation
Another question I've got: Will the attack animations always stay this size, "only" happening on the enemy? Not sure how to describe what I mean, so here are some screenshots:
attack on enemy: - removed screenshot of Pokemon: Pidgey used Gust! -
attack on "screen": - removed screenshot of Pokemon: Squirtle used bubble! -
EDIT:
Since ShadowApex already replied, thus understood what I've meant, I removed the screenshots. Because of weird copyright and other right thingies... One can never be too careful nowdays.

Currently animations will only be played over the opposing monster, but we could create a system where the animation moves from the using monster to the target monster. If you want to create an animation that does that, I can try and incorporate it in the engine.

Alright, I will try to focus on these then. "focus" sounds funny, when I think about what Im actually focusing on right now... *looks at the time* it's 1am and im still doing stuff for university ._.'
Anyways: Besides art contributions, what else is in need right now? It seems, you already have lots of code written down and you ... "just" need content. Am I right?
I think I need to look through the forum a little more, also a little more through github..

In terms of the codebase, I'd say we have about 80% of the basic functionality, not including things like multiplayer, etc. Things like starting battles, getting in random encounters, catching monsters, opening dialog, and using items all work to a varying degree. There's still more work to be done on this front, but overall we have the basic pieces needed to get started.
I'd say these are the things we need the most right now:
- Monster Contributions (sprites, stats, descriptions, etc.)
- NPC Contributions (world sprites, combat sprites, etc.)
- Technique Contributions (animations, power, etc.)
- Tileset Contributions (tiles and animations for maps)
- Map Contributions (towns/locations with NPCs, events, etc.)
- Code Contributions (new events, additional base functionality, and issues on GitHub)
There are tutorials with information on how to contribute many of these things on the Tuxemon Wiki.

Champion · 261 commentsI think I will have to do a dark outline or something ....
If you can't see it: Im using tuxemon with the night mode / dark design... the sprites are white only.
Power Slash (sorry for the horrible names):

By ShadowApex 4 Dec 2015 01:26
Lead Developer · 374 commentsThis is an amazing animation! I actually don't think it's too white when animated over a monster, so an outline might not be necessary.
I just finished including this animation in the latest development release
https://github.com/Tuxemon/Tuxemon/comm … 61a82c7558
Right now I changed the "Pound" technique to use this animation until we have something better. We could also use this animation in a completely new technique.

Lead Developer · 374 commentsThese are awesome tamashi, glad I caught you while you were streaming!
Using the light forum theme, it's almost impossible to tell the difference between the 3 versions of the thunder attack, but after putting it against a darker background I think I prefer the "less spread particle" version.
Also, as we talked about before, the back sprites don't actually get drawn in the corner of the screen during battle, so we'll need to make sure there's no abrupt cuts to the sides of the sprites.

Champion · 261 commentshey there,
im still alive. Oh and I fixed some sprites. I didn't fix Ghosteeth because I don't like that tuxemon, you might as well ignore that submisson (unless you like it for some reason and want it in game, then I might fix it too)
Fixed sumobug
Fixed propellercat

Already posted in a different thread but I'm gonna write it here too:
Since my PC died I'll be a little inactive I think. I'll check if stuff happens or so but I will have to afford a new PC somehow
Any idea what program is good to create pixelart on linux? My girlfriend uses linux...
I don't need a powerful program, I'm not limiting myself to palettes (I should but I don't want to. Also I have no idea how.), and I'm not using any fancy effects... I don't like clicking "yes I want a transparent layer -_-" all the time (as in GIMP) but just do some pixel art quickly... any suggestion?

I use Aseprite, which runs on Windows, Mac and Ubuntu (maybe other Linux distros, but Ubuntu's the one that they mention). It's $10, and I've found that price worth it for the time it saves me:

Ohhh.. I saw that one on itch.io.. thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep that in mind for later. Sadly, I spent the "last" 10 bucks I had on a game called distance and im kinda broke now xD so I guess I will have to try something else...
First thing I definitely need to buy is a PC

The tornado attack looks a little rough but still looks pretty good when it's animated. I tried looking up some more tornado animations for reference:
