HelloGood news: My pc is back in life! (after a half year, finally xD)I did some animations, maybe they are useful somehow
the first animation is something like a possible way of capturing tuxemon maybe.. but its kinda WIP-ish. I did that by hand, without a 3d program, the proportions arent right and stuff...http://imgur.com/a/xRRyd <- all frames as png from the first sprite (with correct transparency)

Wow ! The red explosion is really cool ! And I don't see any mistake with the proportions in the first animation. These are good animations.

Now.... I'm gonna pee in my own soup so noone else has to do it:
the explosion animation doesnt look very nice to me. the small explosions are nice themselves, but because you have the exact same explosion 5 times it looks very .. "retro". might be matching if a robot explodes in an arcade jump and run game... but it dont think that animation will look good on tuxemon
the proportions in the first animation is pretty wrong because the 3 bars area) changing their size while spinning (they should be big in the front and small on the back but its the opposite)b) have wrong speed (they should be faster in the foreground and slower in the background; but its the opposite again)
not sure if im being to hard on my art but im not hesitating to point out mistakes I've done
we can use these in game of course as placeholders but maybe we should make reanimate that stuff later...
... the water animation should be okay though the color could be little more greenish maybe..
That's not shocking to me. I made the same rotation with blender and I got this :The speed isn't so different between foreground and background. You're right about the size but your animation is good anyway because that's not obviously wrong.

Here's what I "need" from your animation:- IMO the animation size should be 96x96... since tuxemon have a max-size of 64x64; the rotation should be definitely happing around the tuxemon and not "in" the tuxemon by accident- I'd be glad if you could create an animation without antialiasing and with transparent background; if its pixelated it matches the rest and I can work with the animation- can you add a red transparent plane at the center of the circle? that plane will divide the white circle parts into white foreground and red background.. I will seperate the animations into 2 layers and make the red part white again.. this way we can make sure the background is really behind the tuxemon and the foreground is infront of the tuxemon
I hope you are able to do this and I hope I explained correctly what kind of animation I wish...I'd do that animation by myself but I kinda never use blender and have no idea how to do all that stuff ;A;

I'm glad you like it because it's not really good ... It was just an example to see the right proportions.I just made another animation with the right size, a transparent background and without anti-aliasing but I don't know what do you mean with the red plane. I understand that you'll need to separate the animation in two layers but I don't see how the red plane could help. By the way : how many frames do you need ? The previous animation has 80 images but maybe less frames would be better.

80 frames seems a bit high, but it really depends on how it looks.

Regarding the capture animation, I think 96 x 96 pixels would be a good size. It definitely needs to be larger than the monster sprites as it has to appear to encompass the entire monster. Also, in order for the layering to look right, we'd need to split the animation into two separate animations:

and that's where the red transparent plane comes in.. with that plane I will be able to tell directly which part is in the fore- or background. I can also select the whole red part and put it onto an extra plane, then color it back to white.. this way there won't be much work to do (i guess) and the sprite should be pretty much perfectish.
I understand what you mean but I have some technical troubles with the red plane. It just seems to corrupt the white texture with a lot of noise. I don't know if you can use this. I still have the blender file so I can make as many tries as needed. Maybe we can just make the inner faces red and get ride of the plane to avoid this weird noise.

There is the red-faced animation. I think the animation needs more images but there are already 15 and that's a lot if you want to add an end for your animation like in your first one.

my spinning animation had 7 frames which looped 3 times + "intro" + "outtro"
please post the animation you just posted with 96x96 pixels; I will choose the "needed" frames out of your 15 and take care of the rest. If I need something else I'll tell you

The bird is really nice! It looks good to me! Maybe we could add a darker outline on the bird?
im looking at the bird on a different display now...im not sure if a darker outline is good in this case but the graphics definitely need more contrast.
