Hey, guys! I thought I'd make a post for any new contributions to the npc art. Here are some of my ideas:If any of these sprites are good enough, let me know, and I can make a pull request. Also, are contributions accepted for the sprite layering system (SLS) yet?

I think these NPC sprites could still be improved, but they're a great start! Go ahead and open a pull request and I'll accept these sprites into the development version of Tuxemon!
As far as the sprite layering, contributions will be accepted if you have them in that format. Otherwise we can always convert existing sprites into their individual parts to be used with that system.
I found this link for a bunch of NPC art under the Creative Commons or Public Domain license. Do you think they could be used in the game? Of course some would have to be animated.http://rpg.hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/Free_SpritesI am kinda hesitant to use resources from people outside of this crew, though, because then it's not really our's; it's just used by us. What do you think, ShadowApex?EDIT- sorry about some of the immodest or whatever trivial sprites on the page-I hadn't noticed them

I know I'm not ShadowApex, but my feeling is that we should use absolutely any open source assets that we can! No point duplicating work that others have done for us. My only concern with those sprites is it's not always clear which Creative Commons licence they're under.
Also perhaps useful are the hundreds of public domain assets in the Superpowers packs: https://github.com/sparklinlabs/superpowers-asset-packs
There's definitely some Superpowers item sprites that we could make use of. There are some people whose sprites are the right size to make trainers, but unfortunately I think they're the wrong style.
I agree completely. If there's other creative commons assets that people have made that fit well into Tuxemon, we should definitely use them, if only at minimum to use as placeholders for changes or new artwork in the future. Some artwork may even fit so nicely that it needs little to no extra modification.
Using other creative commons artwork might even attract the original artist to the project and help contribute further. Kelvin was one such artist who discovered Tuxemon through use of his Kyrodian Legends Overworld tileset in the project.
Yeah, the NPC sprites are kinda unclear as far as license. And sorry about some of the immodest or whatever trivial sprites on the page-I hadn't noticed them.Sanglorian-thanks for your link. I plan to use some of the graphics soon!
Again thank you Sanglorian!! Man, that guy needs to join our crew! And that site has a lot of probably usable sprites and files. I also noticed that it also has some music and possible tileset graphics! This page has some NPC sprites very similar to Tuxemon dimensions: https://github.com/sparklinlabs/superpo … charactersHere are some of my favorites: And the list goes on! I will plan to make various individual files for these sprites and put them here (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bie3w8tshivt … 9kcBa?dl=0) with my other sprites. BUT-I think someone else will have to add them to the game for me, because I can't get my Tuxemon fork working right. Thanks!
And check this out guys! I put up a video of open source music, and I featured three of Tuxemon's songs-check it out and let me know what you think! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_JyuxR … e=youtu.be Sorry, that's not really even related to the rest of this post
I am now done with the knight NPC. I thought maybe it could be the ENFORCER NPC in the game; it's similar to Leo's sprite. It is modified to make the sprite tallerAgain, the link is http://i.imgur.com/5gkJvMT.png

I found this image from the superpowers kit:I figured it would be a good resource for element symbols
New NPC: It is on my Github Fork: https://github.com/josepharaoh99/Tuxemon
I also had some ideas for new NPC states. Of course, we have stand, and wander is suggested. Here are some more ideas:
- Pace- Follow (already suggested I believe)- Flee

The NPC sprites are here:https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bie3w8tshivt … 9kcBa?dl=0and CHARACTER SPRITES!!
Found these http://young-dante.deviantart.com/art/V … 984420#-we need more girl sprites in this game. Based on what I can tell, we can use these in the game. This stuff isn't really under any set licenses, and the maker lets people use it in games. He just seems to want to know how it's used.
But the sprites are not a good size...
if young-dante agrees we can edit them to have the right size; that shouldnt be a problem at all
They do look good! I hope they agree to the CC BY-SA licence that you asked them to use.

That looks good! Did you do the other frames in the animation as well? If so, I'll chuck them on the wiki.
I don't think I've done one; sorry, way overdue reply
http://opengameart.org/content/galacti- … -non-chibi Found this, too; but it probably won't work since it has a different artistic style; just wanted to share it anyway.
Found some more NPCs, some in this set appear to be animated, but I'm not sure about all.
I don't know if we can fix them up to be Tuxemon worthy What do you guys think?
These look like they're 16 pixels tall, whereas Tuxemon characters are taller - I think 20 pixels. But if you wanted to adjust them to be taller, I think they'd make a great addition.
