My new tileset
I created a tileset, that is heavily based on this here:
http://opengameart.org/content/tiled-terrains
i scaled it down to 16x16 and improved it a lot. I also added parts from some other tilesets and water is animated too.
it has a lot of variation, a lot of tiles for transitions and different types of cave.
Later i want to create some maps too.

Tileset looks awesome! Right now we've been pretty short on tilesets that we could use with Tuxemon at the moment. I can tell some of the buildings look very similar to Zelda: LttP.

There's currently not any specific style guide for tilesets right now. Once we have more content and find a specific art style we'd like to adhere to, we can start modifying the existing assets to try and conform more to an overall style.

Member · 22 commentsi wanted to create some sort of a test-map with the default tileset (because i want to create maps in future), but i noticed some issues with it.
The default tileset looks a bit unordered, and i noticed some restrictions with transitions between tiles.
And i wanted to test different tilesets how they look, before creating maps then.
I realized, that the walls could be impoved a bit too (they seem to have too much colors for me).

Thanks a lot for the tileset - it looks epic, and I really like it! It's great to see that you've been doing a lot of work for this. Hope to see more progress soon.
Here is a guide to making maps: https://github.com/Tuxemon/Tuxemon/wiki/creating-maps and on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qbeFy1qcl8

Member · 22 commentsjust for information: i uploaded the tileset now on oga: with a cave preview - http://opengameart.org/content/lpc-16x16-tiles-extended
and i want to say, that i am really busy at the moment (creating my own game - a link should be in my signature , creating a website for me and my game)
so it may take some time, until i create a map
(about my game Laundred Sheep: based on Supertuxkart, still buggy, i heavily work on it, planned to release a new version soon, then with website too)
